ABOUT THE STUDIO
DESIGNING HOMES WITH STYLE & STORY
KAREN GERMOND
For as long as I can remember, I have been a passionate observer of interiors. Even as a child, I wanted to understand how the elements of a room were collected and curated—noting not only how they made spaces look, but how they made them feel.
After graduating with a business degree, I worked for 14 years in sales and account management before leaving the workforce to stay home with my youngest child. When that season came to an end, I knew it was time to pursue a formal career in design. Once I was finished with design school, I spent several years in the industry honing my skills and developing my style. In 2009, I was ready to create something of my own, and KMG Design Studio was born.
When I'm not designing, you can find me practicing yoga, trying out a new coffee shop, and finding inspiration from French lifestyle.

MEET THE TEAM
Curry Jones
Junior Designer
Curry was born and raised in Georgia and recently moved to Charleston in July 2025. She holds a degree in Furnishings and Interiors with a Business Entrepreneurship Certificate from the University of Georgia.
Curry appreciates the creative challenge of harmonizing interior spaces of any scale and period with classic design principles. Outside of her design work, you can find her reading, practicing yoga, running, shopping, and trying new restaurants.
DAVE PURDY
Procurement Manager
Dave was born and raised in New Jersey, but recently made the move to Charleston in January 2021. With a degree in Environmental Science, his Senior Capstone Project focused on Sustainable Home Design. He has previous experience in construction, having worked for a General Contractor.
In Dave's free time, he enjoys crossfit, exploring the outdoors, hiking, cooking, and promoting sustainability. He has a passion for solving complex problems and have a deep love for food, always eager to try new restaurants.
Jules Celio
Marketing Manager
Jules was born and raised in New Hampshire and relocated to South Carolina in 2023. She holds a degree in Journalism with a minor in Social Media from Penn State, and recently earned her Master’s in Strategic Communications Management from the University of South Carolina.
With a background in photography and marketing, Jules brings a sharp creative eye and strategic mindset to everything she does. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her behind the camera, exploring new coffee shops, or getting lost in a good book.
